Se tem algo que sou APAIXONADO são os períodos de 1800 a 1930. As roupas, os costumes, a economia, o desenvolvimento, etc. Enfim, é o início do que passamos hoje em termos de tecnologia (claro, herdado da antigüidade e que foi desenvolvendo). A história me fascina.
A história como um todo é apaixonante, mas para mim, principalmente guerras. Apesar de serem custosas em termos de vida, são elas que causam a posterior ordem, o desenvolvimento de uma nação e sua economia.
Estava navegando aleatoriamente no Digg, quando encontro algo fantástico: fotos coloridas da Primeira Guerra Mundial, com uma excelente qualidade:

gnashing of concrete and steel teeth
smashing brains
splattering blood
chewing the bodies to bits
they would say we were
eaten by our own teeth
but that cannot be
the city is so beautiful
even the smoke rising
from that hole is beautiful
in a way that you will
never comprehend
to go to war
is what they want
have achieved
they want to draw us to them
to destroy us
somehow now, at night
the flags draped everywhere
are comforting
whereas before they would
have been the opposite
this is an era
we never lived

Eu tinha um DVD com fotos e vídeos coloridos da Segunda Guerra, mas não estou achando.
O pior que as fontes de onde obti, não existem mais.
